Total MBBS Seats in AIIMS (2025):
There are 2,207 MBBS seats available across 20 AIIMS institutes in India – all of which are approved by NMC and MoE.
Old vs. New Admission Process in AIIMS:
Until 2019, AIIMS conducted its own separate entrance exam for MBBS admission. But after the implementation of the NMC Bill, all MBBS admissions to AIIMS are now done exclusively through NEET-UG, and counselling is conducted by MCC (Medical Counselling Committee).

RESERVATION POLICY FOR ADMISSION TO ALL INDIA INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES (AIIMS)
Reservation Policy of the Central Government for the NEET (UG) Counselling in AIIMS colleges across India is as follows.
S.C.-15%
S.T.—–7.5%
O.B.C.- (Non-Creamy Layer) as per the Central OBC list—–27%
EWS- as per Central Government norms——10%
PWD- Horizontal Reservation as per NMC norms—- 5%
Foreign National Seats in AIIMS MBBS Admissions (2025): Key Guidelines & Eligibility
In AIIMS MBBS admissions, the Foreign National seats are exclusively reserved for candidates holding foreign nationality.
These seats cannot be claimed by Indian citizens, NRIs, OCIs, or PIOs.
Important Notes:
- Only Foreign National applicants are eligible to apply under this specific quota.
- The eligibility criteria, fee structure, and admission requirements for these seats are determined directly by AIIMS authorities and may differ from the standard NEET-based admission process for Indian nationals.
- These candidates are not required to participate in NEET counselling conducted by MCC.
ELIGIBILITY CONDITION FOR ADMISSION TO ALL INDIA INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES (AIIMS)
FOR ADMISSION TO MBBS
- The Candidate should have qualified NEET UG.
- Domicile free.
- Eligibility conditions as per AIIMS will be applicable.
- Candidates who fall under the category of NRI as per the directions/ orders of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India are eligible for NRI Category. OCI/PIO/Foreign Nationals candidates will be considered as NRI. OCI/PIO/Foreign Nationals Candidates will only be eligible for NRI seats.
In case the said eligibility conditions are not fulfilled, the seat is likely to be cancelled.
SEATS CONVERSION FOR ADMISSION TO ALL INDIA INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES (AIIMS)
AIIMS MBBS Seat Conversion Policy – Round 3 Counselling (2025)
The conversion of seats at AIIMS institutes will be implemented during the Third Round of NEET UG 2025 counselling.
✅ This conversion will only take place after all eligible candidates belonging to the original reservation category have been fully considered and exhausted.
➡️ For example, if no eligible candidates remain in a particular category (e.g., SC, ST, OBC, EWS), those unfilled seats may be converted to another applicable category, as per the rules defined by MCC and AIIMS authorities.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED AT THE TIME OF ADMISSION IN AIIMS
Candidates selected for admission to the MBBS course at the AIIMS after verification of their eligibility and admitted should bring the following original certificates/ testimonials/documents at the time of admission:
- Certificate of having passed the 10+2 or equivalent Examinations, showing the subject offered by him/her in the
Examination.
- Certificate from the Board from which he/she passed the High School/Higher Secondary Examination, showing his/her date of birth.
- Certificate/Mark sheet from the Board from which he/she passed the 10+2 or equivalent Examination showing that he/she has secured 60% or more marks (50% in case of SC/ST/PWBD) in aggregate in English, Physics, Chemistry and
Biology.
- Migration Certificate from the University/Board last attended by him/her.
- Applicable only to candidate belonging to Scheduled Caste/Tribe/OBC/EWS/OPH Category: a. SC/ST Certificate issued by the competent authority. Community should be clearly b. mentioned in the certificate. c. OBC Certificate issued by the competent authority. The sub-caste should tally with the central list of OBC. OBC candidates should not belong to Creamy layer. OBC certificate must be in the prescribed format. d. EWS Certificate issued by the competent authority. e. Certificate from prescribed authority showing that he/she belongs to Persons with Benchmark Disability Category.
